Llandudno weekend 2024 day 1

Despite non stop rain in the days leading up to our weekend, which led to flooding on the Wolverhampton  to Shrewsbury line, we all managed to reach our destination safely.   We were hoping that by the time we got there that the rain would be finished!   As you can see, the sun did shine for us and we kept our fingers crossed that it would continue.

After dropping our cases at the hotel, we headed to Colwyn Bay for a walk back to Llandudno via the Little Orme.   The whole promenade was very impressive and we also loved the tiny chapel of St Trillo, which is the smallest in the UK still in use.   We then headed to Angel Bay in the hope of seeing seals  – there was one adult and several youngsters so we weren’t disappointed.   Following a short but steep climb we were rewarded with fantasic views, the first of many over this weekend.

In the evening, after dinner, a number of us headed for a local pub where there was live music.   No sign of sore feet as most of us had a dance!
